In a statement, the whistleblower was called the aunt of Kim Sae Ron an interview with Gold Medalist said that she's not her biological mother because "the deceased's mother doesn't have a married sibling. In reality, the aunt recently interviewed was the mother of Sae Ron in a way, perhaps more so than her mother."

In the wake of the agency's clear statements about the allegations and the controversy, fans are in a state of confusion over it. Many felt it was not necessary to dwell on the minor aspect, some have mentioned how the actor himself has revealed his stepbrother's name as an unassuming child to journalists, per Koreaboo.
